Snicker Salad

  • Author: Emily Cooks
  • Yield: Estimate: 6-8 servings

Description

A creamy, sweet, and tart dessert salad perfect for potlucks, parties, and any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples (about 2 pounds), peeled and diced
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix (regular, not sugar-free)
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk is recommended, but 2% works too)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped Snickers candy bars (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Apples: Wash, peel, and core the apples. Dice them into bite-sized pieces, about 1/2-inch cubes. If not using immediately, place diced apples in a bowl of cold water with a squeeze of lemon juice to prevent browning.

2. Make the Pudding Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk until thickened.

3. Combine Ingredients: Drain apples if soaked. In a large bowl, gently fold together the apples, pudding mixture, and thawed whipped topping. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Chill and Serve: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and the salad to chill. Before serving, drizzle with caramel topping and sprinkle with chopped Snickers (optional).

Notes

For a sweeter salad, use Fuji or Honeycrisp apples. For richer flavor, add vanilla Greek yogurt. Chopped nuts or other candies can also be added.
