Description

A sweet and smoky treat, grilled pineapple is perfect for summer BBQs, desserts, or a simple healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe pineapple
  • Optional: Marinade ingredients (honey, soy sauce, chili flakes, lime juice, cilantro, balsamic glaze)
  • Optional: Garnishes (mint, toasted coconut flakes, Greek yogurt)

Instructions

1. Choose a ripe pineapple (golden yellow base, sweet aroma, leaves pull out easily).

2. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple.

3. Slice off the skin, following the curves of the fruit. Remove any remaining “eyes.”

4. Cut into rings or spears, removing the core.

5. Preheat grill to medium-high heat for direct grilling or medium heat for indirect grilling.

6. For direct grilling: Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear.

7. For indirect grilling: Grill for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until heated through.

8. For grill pan method: Preheat pan over medium heat, lightly oil, and grill for 2-3 minutes per side.

9. Optional: Marinate pineapple before grilling.

10. Serve warm, cold, or at room temperature.

11. Optional: Garnish with mint, coconut flakes, or Greek yogurt.

Notes

Grilling time varies depending on thickness and desired caramelization. Avoid overcooking, which can make the pineapple mushy.
