Description

Easy Avalanche Cookies: A delightful blend of chocolate chips, peanut butter, and a sweet powdered sugar coating. Perfect for a quick, delicious treat!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for rolling

Instructions

1. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

2. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.

3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.

4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.

5. Stir in peanut butter and chocolate chips.

6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets.

7. Scoop dough onto baking sheets.

8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

9. Cool on baking sheets then transfer to a wire rack.

10. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.

11. Cool completely.

Notes

Chocolate Lover’s Dream (mix chocolate chips), Nutty Avalanche (add chopped nuts), Spice It Up (add cinnamon/nutmeg), Extracts (add almond/peppermint/maple extract). Dough can be made 2 days ahead. Can freeze baked or unbaked cookies.
